TMU Organised Staff Development Programme on Professional Ethics and Workplace Behaviour
The Centre for Teaching, Learning & Development (CTLD), TMU, organised a Staff Development Programme (SDP) on Professional Ethics, Workplace Behaviour and Accountability on 22 August 2026. The programme aimed to promote ethical values, responsible behaviour and a respectful workplace culture among university staff.
The programme was led by the Director of CTLD as the resource person. It focused on the importance of honesty, professional conduct, teamwork, clear communication and taking responsibility for work.
The sessions encouraged participants to understand workplace challenges and learn how to respond to ethical problems in a responsible manner. The programme also highlighted the importance of creating a positive and respectful work environment.
Interactive Learning and Practical Activities
The programme followed an interactive approach that included group discussions, workplace case studies, real-life examples, activities and question-and-answer sessions. Participants also shared their experiences and discussed common workplace situations.
These activities helped participants understand how professional ethics and accountability could be applied in their daily work. The programme also encouraged open communication and knowledge sharing among staff members.
Positive Feedback from Participants
The programme received positive feedback from participants. A total of 12 participants submitted feedback, and the overall average rating across eight evaluation parameters was 4.68 out of 5.
Participants appreciated the sessions on ethics, accountability, communication skills and personality development. They also valued face-to-face interaction, practical examples and the comfortable learning environment created by the resource person.
Some participants suggested organising similar programmes regularly and providing more opportunities to interact with the resource person. The feedback showed that participants found the programme useful and relevant to their professional lives.
Positive Learning Outcomes
The assessment results showed improvement in participants' learning after the programme. The average pre-assessment score was 18.31 out of 20, while the post-assessment score was 19.45 out of 20. These results indicated a positive learning outcome. Participants also showed a better understanding of professional responsibility, ethical conduct and workplace accountability.
Alignment with NEP 2020 and Sustainable Development Goals
The programme supported the goals of NEP 2020 by encouraging continuous learning and professional development among staff. It also aligned with NAAC quality standards and the values of the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC).
The initiative contributed to three Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
- SDG 4 – Quality Education: Supported staff development and a better learning environment.
- SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth: Promoted professional conduct and responsible workplace practices.
- SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions: Encouraged integrity, accountability and ethical practices.

The Staff Development Programme on Professional Ethics, Workplace Behaviour and Accountability strengthened TMU's efforts to build an ethical, respectful and responsible workplace. The positive feedback and improved assessment results reflected the value of the programme for university staff.
Through interactive learning, practical discussions and experience sharing, CTLD encouraged participants to follow ethical practices, communicate effectively and take responsibility for their work.
